Recognized as the largest shopping and entertainment complex in the United States and one of the most visited tourist attractions on the globe, the Mall of America receives roughly 40 million visitors a year. Located just 15 minutes from Downtown Minneapolis.
Mall of America is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Many things can be credited for its longevity, including being literally across the street from a major international airport (and Delta Airlines hub), roughly 25 million people living within an eight hour drive, and no sales tax on clothing and shoes in the State of Minnesota. That there are two hotels attached to MOA, more than 50 nearby hotels (with free shuttles to the Mall) and free Wi-Fi make extended stays extremely appealing.

Getting There – Directions to Mall of America
It’s easy to access the mall from both downtown Minneapolis and the airport. One of the most convenient ways to travel to the Mall of America is by light rail. This service connects downtown Minneapolis, the Minneapolis-St. Paul International airport, and the Mall of America and it’s simple to use! Many hotels also offer free shuttle service between the airport and the mall – so be sure to check with your hotel.
An uber from the airport to the mall is less than $13 and typically takes no more than 10 minutes. How’s that for convenience?

The Escape Game is a great way to practice teamwork. Choose from a handful of scenarios in which together you must test your problem solving skills to free yourself from the themed room before time is up!
More Kid Friendly Attractions
For the little ones, there’s Crayola Experience, 60,000 square feet of hands-on activities, like making personalized crayon wraps, a coloring book selfie station and melted crayon art. The Moose Mountain Adventure Golf course and the nearby Mirror Maze are both classic, all-ages activities that are, trust us, far more difficult than they seem.

Big Attractions Find fun and excitement at the new The Fair on 4 where your family can savor fair-inspired foods like cheese curds & house-cut fries, compete in axe throwing (with parent or guardian), drive a go-cart and more. Calling all candy fanatics! Spanning more than 24,000 square feet, the all-new M&M’S Mall of America location pays homage to the state, featuring Minnesota-themed M&M’S products while dipping guests into a free-to-enjoy interactive M&M’S experience. This “sweet” store includes a series of cool components unique to the M&M’S Mall of America location, including “Peanut Peak,” a rooftop celebration of local landscape inspired by marvelous Minnesota views. The store also features a personalization station, signature M&M’S, “Wall of Chocolate,” photo ops with larger-than-life characters and exclusive in-store merchandise. Opened in fall 2018, the Paw Patrol attraction recreates the animated world from the wildly popular TV show. Adjacent to Nickelodeon Universe, FlyOver America simulates soaring over national landmarks. The seats move and swing gently, creating a sense of flying. The immersive experience features wind, mist and scents to enhance the images on the screen. Next to FlyOver, the 5D Extreme Attraction gives riders the choice between a wild ride through a mystery mine or a trip underwater with prehistoric beasts. At SEA LIFE Minnesota Aquarium, the newest exhibit takes visitors into the rainforest for face-to-face interaction with cockroaches, piranhas, crocodiles, snakes and other creepy critters.
